another season, another truck!

After happily working together running Sugarush, Tom & I launched Championship Melt, our second Providence food truck!  The savory side to our sweets, Championship Melt is mainly grilled cheeses, but this is no ordinary diner fare.  Some of our favorite sandwiches include the Yeti: goat cheese, cranberries and baby spinach with prosciutto, and the Boomstick: maple-glazed ham with mac 'n cheese and dijon mustard...  And, just like with our cupcakes, we have many vegan, vegetarian & gluten-free options.  Follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook to find out where the new truck will be next!

Of course this doesn't mean the cupcakemobile will be fading away, Sugarush is still going strong and after a great weekend at the RISD Alumni Sale and a sweet wash & wax, she is ready for a third season of farmers markets and street fairs!

 

time to roll out!

We're getting ready for our seasonal debut this Saturday at the RISD Alumni Sale down on Benefit St!  The truck will be parked at the George St. end from about 10am til 4pm.  We've been working on new seasonal recipes and retooling some old favorites.  We'd love to hear what cupcake flavors you want us to bring to you and other tasty treats, too.  In the test kitchen we've been trying our hand at making cream puffs:

They are super fun to bake - just a lot stirring to get all those eggs mixed in, but we've got pretty strong arms from whipping up batches and batches of cupcakes.  The trick will be how to store them and keep them fresh enough to serve from the truck in that Providence humidity...

 The cupcakemobile has come out of hibernation and is at the mechanic's getting all shined up for the spring season (antique vehicles need a little extra TLC now & again)  We don't know exactly when we'll be back out on the road, but we're aiming for the RISD Alumni Sale, April 30th, on Benefit St. so mark your calenders and get ready for a sugar invasion...
